Shah Rukh Khan made his grand comeback in films with Pathaan, and it gave a terrific start to 2023. After Pathaan, SRK's second release of the year, the recently released Jawan is already en route to breaking Pathaan's box office record. Earlier, it was planned that Shah Rukh Khan would end the year with a bang, with Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki. However, if a media report is to be believed, Dunki might not be released in 2023.
As per the report of Koimoi, the team of Dunki team is in two minds about whether it will be a good call to bring in a third SRK-starrer in the same year. The portal quoted a source closely related to SRK, that said, "I believe they (team) are looking at the possibility of moving Dunki to early next year. This year SRK’s Pathaan and Jawan are record-breaking blockbusters. A third film makes no sense. Better to wait a few months, and give SRK fans some pause to absorb the twin successes. Let’s not forget that Pathaan and Jawan still have a long way to go. While Pathaan has started streaming on Prime Video, Jawan will begin streaming not before November. This means the SRK fever will be prevalent right till the end of the year." The source further quoted that if Dunki releases this year, he won't have a release in 2024.
