Amy Jackson shares throwback photo of Aishwarya Rai eating on floor at Miss World Pageant in 1994, calls her 'queen'

Amy Jackson was last seen opposite Rajnikanth in '2.0' which was a sequel to the superstar's 2010 hit film 'Robot' starring Aishwarya Rai.

British actress Amy Jackson, who has worked in several Indian movies as well, recently shared a throwback photo of Aishwarya Rai from her Miss World pageant days, which is taking the internet by storm. Amy herself was crowned Miss Teen World in 2009.

In the throwback photo, Aishwarya Rai can be seen with her mother Vrinda Rai as both have a meal while sitting on the floor. As per the original source of the post, the picture was taken backstage after the Miss World Pageant in 1994. Aishwarya has won the Miss World title that year.

Aishwarya looks stunning in a pink saree and golden blouse. She is wearing her Miss World sash and crown in the photo. Aishwarya’s mother can be seen in a grey salwar suit. While sharing the picture on her Instagram stories, Amy called Aishwarya ‘the queen’. She also wrote, “Forever Favourite”, in the caption adding a heart emoji.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first runner-up at the Miss India pageant in 1994, losing the crown to Sushmita Sen. Later, Sushmita won the Miss Universe crown.

Amy Jackson is currently in the UK with her fiancé and hotelier George Panayiotou. The couple welcomed their first child, son Andreas Panayiotou in 2019. Amy made her India cinema debut with Tamil movie ‘Madrasapattinam’ in 2010 and went on to star in movies such as ‘Singh is Bliing’, ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ and ‘Freaky Ali’.

Amy was last seen in S Shankar’s ‘2.0’ which also starred Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar. ‘2.0’ was a stand-alone sequel to 2010 film ‘Enthiran’ aka ‘Robot’ starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya. Speaking about replacing Aishwarya as the lead in the second instalment, Amy in an earlier interview said, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an inspiration. I’ve watched Robot several times. I have literally followed in Aishwarya’s footsteps. But our characters aren’t related.”

Meanwhile, Aishwarya was last seen in 2018 film ‘Fanney Khan’ with Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor. She will soon appear in Mani Ratnam's epic drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
