The report further states that "the film could return to theatres when they open up but the film has not really worked going by centres which had a clean weekend and so when it does return there will not be much hope for strong collections". Angrezi Medium sees Irrfan play a single father, hailing from the middle-class small-town background, who will go to any extent to fulfill the dreams of his daughter, played by Radhika Madan. It also stars Kareena Kapoor, Deepak Dobriyal, Dimple Kapadia and Pankaj Tripathi in important roles.

Angrezi Medium received mixed reviews by critics. Writing about it, the DNA review said, "It's a delight to watch Irrfan doing what he knows the best that is, to perform effortlessly. His straight face humour and command over the screen made me realise how much I missed seeing him on the big screen. To match up with him, we have Deepak, who is fun and entertaining to the fullest. However, that's all we could see in several instances."
