Anil Sharma reacts to Ameesha Patel's statement that she'll reject Gadar 3.

Ameesha Patel who is currently enjoying the success of her latest release Gadar 2, when asked about Gadar 3, replied that she would reject the film. Now the director Anil Sharma has finally reacted to her statement.

In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Anil Sharma opened up on Ameesha Patel’s statement about rejecting Gadar 3 and said, “Ameesha ji has said a lot of things during the course of the film. I’d not like to comment on it. I respect her and will continue to do so. The character of Sakina was born from my heart, not hers. I myself don’t know what will happen in Gadar 3. Unke kehne ya sochne se kya hota hai? I am happy she’s so connected with Gadar. I’d like to thank them. Woh accha ya bura jo bhi bole, unka mann hai.”

For the unversed, earlier, Ameesha Patel told Bollywood Hungama that she would reject Gadar 3 and said, “They want to see Tara and Sakeena more together. This time we had to be selfless actors and give Tara-Sakeena moments a backseat because we had to focus on making a different kind of film. Sakeena cannot go and get caught in Pakistan yet again. Neither could Tara take her to Pakistan again and put her in danger, knowing that she is Ashraf Ali’s daughter. That’s why the first half belonged to me and the second half to Sunny. We said we are okay as we do understand that as seasoned actors.”

Helmed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 is having a blockbuster run at the box office. The movie is a sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Tara Singh and Sakina’s chemistry has left netizens quite nostalgic. The movie stars Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakina, and Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet along with Manish Wadhwa, Simrat Kaur, Gaurav Chopra, and Luv Sinha among others in key roles.

Released on August 11, the movie clashed with Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and has still emerged as one of highest highest-grossing films of the year. The movie broke several box office records and collected Rs Rs 639 crore worldwide in 23 days.
