Aparshakti Khurana is awaiting the release of his next film Stree 2. The sequel to the 2018 horror comedy is slated to hit theatres on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15. Stree 2 will clash at the box office with John Abraham, Sharvari-starrer action thriller Vedaa and Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor-starrer comedy Khel Khel Mein.
In his recent interview, Aparshakti said that he isn't worried about this three way clash as he feels that the audiences will get to see three good films at the same time. Talking to Hindustan Times, he said, "It is a long weekend with Independence Day and Rakhi all coming together. People are in for a treat. It’s nice people will have choices. We are in a space right now where we have to root for each other. The current climate of the fraternity is such that I don’t think people will be looking down upon each other or trying to pull each other down. Everybody will only be hoping that all three films work. That is eventually how you grow together as an industry."
The Jubilee actor also shared that filming Stree 2 was very special as he added, "The fact that the exact same team from Stree came together for Stree 2 made it a very special experience. We even shot at the same location in Chanderi with the exact same team including the actors, director and even the ADs (assistant directors). All of this made filming very special. We relived a lot of memories."
Apart from Aparshakti Khurana, Stree 2 stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee in the leading roles. Stree 2 has been directed by Amar Kaushik, who also helmed the first part. Vedaa has been directed by Nikkhil Advani and Khel Khel Mein is directed by Mudassar Aziz.
