Dhaakad is directed by Razneesh Ghai aka Razy and has Kangana playing the role of Agent Agni. Arjun's presence in the movie was confirmed when the actor made an appearance at Kangana's Brunch party at her residence in Mumbai for team Dhaakad.

While talking about the film, Ranaut had earlier said in a statement, "Dhaakad is not only a benchmark film for my career but will be a turning point for Indian cinema as well. The film is mounted on a large scale, and is one of a kind female-led action film."

The actor also said, "It has several chase sequences and sword fights. I will use all kinds of sophisticated weapons, including some of the latest machine guns. I believe one must pick up new skills for every movie. I don't like to rush into any project as it makes me anxious."

Dhaakad is set to hit the screens on October 1, 2021.
