A special screening of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan was organised for real-life heroes in Mumbai on Sunday, September 10 night. Atlee, who has made his Bollywod debut with the high-octane actioner, marked his presence at the screening specially held for Indian Army men, police officers and traffic police personnel in Mumbai.
After the screening, Atlee interacted for a few minutes with the media and opened up on the huge response that the film has been getting across India. "It is very overwhelming, it is actually God's blessing. God has been kind to us, I think we have done our part as a filmmaker to entertain the audiences. Whatever we wished that it would entertain people, it has worked among the audiences in the theatres. People are really happy about it and showering their love on the film."
He extended his gratitute to Shah Rukh Khan and other cast and crew members as he added, "Mainly, it's all because of Shah Rukh sir, the Red Chillies team, and the entire team that has worked on the film for the past three and a half years." Reacting to the record-breaking opening that Jawan has taken, Atlee stated, "Our intention was to entertain you. That's the love you have given back to us and it will keep us pumping us for more and give you all something great in next film as well."
When he was asked by the media if he would like to work with any other Khan, he responded, "Of course, I would love to work with everyone." Upon further asked to name one Khan apart from SRK he would like to make a film with, the filmmaker said, "I want to work with Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, everyone." The clip of Atlee's interaction with the media has been shared on Viral Bollywood YouTube channel.
Atlee made his directorial debut with the romantic drama Raja Rani (2013) before he turned to action genre and collaborated with Thalapathy Vijay for three back to back blockbusters namely Theri (2016), Mersal (2017), and Bigil (2019) in Kollywood. Jawan has already become Atlee's biggest success within just three days of its release.
