'Bandish Bandits' actor Amit Mistry dies of cardiac arrest

Amit's sudden demise has left the entire film and television industry in shock as they extended their condolences to the family.

Indian film actor Amit Mistry, famous in the Gujarati theatre circle as well as in Hindi film and television industry, died on Friday morning after suffering a major cardiac arrest. 

The actor was recently seen in the Amazon Prime web series Bandish Bandits. He essayed the role of Devendra Rathod, Radhe's uncle, Rajendra's younger brother and Digvijay's step-brother in the romantic OTT drama.

His manager Maharshi Desai confirmed the tragic news and was quoted telling indianexpress.com, "I spoke to Amit's mother. It is true that he is no more. He passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest this morning. He was at his house in Andheri, Mumbai with his parents and passed away on the spot, before they could get any help."

Amit's sudden demise has left the entire film and television industry in shock as they extended their condolences to the family.

Actor Kubrra Sait wrote on Twitter, "You'll be missed on earth @Actoramitmistry Condolences to the family."

Singer Swanand Kirkire also took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, “Amit Mistry? No ...this is unbelievable. He was an amazing actor and a real happy soul." 

For the unversed, Amit has done several Hindi films including Kya Kehna, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, 99, Shor In The City, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Bey Yaar, A Gentleman to name a few. As for TV, he has done shows like Tenali Rama, Woh, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai, among others.
