Yash Raj Films has finally announced the second installment of their hit 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli which had Abhishek Bachchan Amitabh Bachchan, and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles.
Today, Yash Raj Films announced that it would be making a rebooted version of the film which would be set in today's day and age. It was announced that the film will also see a time leap of 10 years and introduce a fresh pair as the new scammers.
Revealing the star cast of the film today, YRF announced that Gully Boy fame Siddhant Chaturvedi who played MC Sher in the film would be the new male lead, whereas YRF is launching a new heroine, Sharvari Wagh, a stunningly gorgeous girl from Mumbai.
Bunty and Babli 2 will be helmed by Varun Sharma who was an assistant director on YRF's biggest blockbusters Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Speaking about the new project Varun said, "Bunty Aur Babli 2 is completely set in today's time. Siddhant caught everyone's eye with his brilliant acting debut in Gully Boy and became the heartthrob of the nation. We are very excited to have him play the role of Bunty. He is a superb actor, is extremely charming and he fits the role perfectly. Sharvari is an extremely special actress to watch out for. She is a powerful performer and you have to watch her on-screen to understand what we mean. Given the film and the roles, they are definitely the perfect casting. They are a fresh, hot pair and their chemistry and energy is infectious."
Varun would also be writing the sequel and the film is all set to be produced by Aditya Chopra.
