Ranveer Singh plays an electric man who works in a circus in the 3 minutes, 39 second-long trailer. He and Varun Sharma are coping with challenges related to doppelgangers. The film, which is set in the 1960s, is mostly indoors because Shetty has built sets for that time period.

A few days ago, Ranveer dropped a happy picture from the sets. In the image, he is seen sharing a laugh with Rohit and co-star Varun Sharma.  Describing their state of mind, Singh stated, "Shooting khatam, Promotion ki planning shuru! Mass-ter filmmaker ke Mass-ter plans!!! Buahahahaha@itsrohitshetty @rohitshettypicturez @fukravarun."

After their critically acclaimed film Simmba and the previous year's Sooryavanshi, in which he appeared in an extended cameo, this will be Shetty and Singh's third joint project. The movie is significant for Ranveer because his previous two releases, 83 and Jayeshbhai Jordaar, did poorly at the box office.

Cirkus is said to be inspired by William Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, which revolves around two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth. Ranveer plays a double role for the first time in his career with Cirkus. Pooja Hegde, Jaqueline Fernandez, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirjee are also a part of `Cirkus`, which is set to hit theatres on December 23.
