Composer Shravan of Nadeem-Shravan duo dies after battling COVID-19

Nadeem-Shravan are widely regarded as the musicians who brought back melody in the early nineties with 'Aashiqui', their superhit soundtrack of 1990.

Shravan Kumar Rathod, of the popular composer duo Nadeem-Shravan is no more. Director Anil Sharma confirmed the news via his Twitter account.  He wrote, "V v sad .. just came to knw about the great music director #shravan he left all of us ..due to COVID...very dear friend n colleague of mine. worked with him in #maharaja Always gave great melodies..my deepest condolences to his family. He will always remain in our hearts. RIP."

The news of Shravan's death comes just a few days after it was reported that he was critically ill and in hospital after testing COVID-19 positive. The reports had stated that Shravan is critical because he reportedly had co-morbidities but his condition wasn't deteriorated after admission to the hospital, as per Film Information. He was admitted to Raheja Hospital, Mahim, Mumbai.

Nadeem-Shravan are widely regarded as the musicians who brought back melody in the early nineties with 'Aashiqui', their superhit soundtrack of 1990. The frequent collaborations with Kumar Sanu resulted in a series of musical successes through the nineties, including 'Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin', 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', 'Saajan', 'Phool Aur Kaante', 'Sadak', 'Deewana', and 'Pardes'.

The second wave of coronavirus has infected many people, and the number of COVID-19 positive cases has been rapidly rising. In Bollywood, an array of celebrities have got infected within a span of a few weeks. 

Recently, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonu Sood, Manish Malhotra, Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Paresh Rawal, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Rohit Saraf, among others had tested positive for COVID-19. 

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and some others were also infected with the virus.
