Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone completed over a decade in the industry after being launch opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 'Om Shanti'. The movie, directed by Farah Khan, gave a major boost to Deepika's career which was just beginning back in 2007.
Not many know that not Shah Rukh Khan, but Salman Khan was the first to offer her movies. Deepika spoke about Salman's offer at the poster launch of 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela'.
She said, "He offered me my first film when I was too young and I was not ready to be in front of the camera. I will always be grateful to him. Just the fact that he offered me a film was a great thing. It is taking a long time for us to come together on screen, so I think there is something special waiting for us."
The actress has however maintained that she does wish to work with Salman soon. In 2013, at the same event, she said that she wants to work with Salman Khan.
Ever since, there have been various occasions when Salman and Deepika could have worked together. Reportedly, Salman wanted her as the female lead in Jai Ho, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan. Eventually, Daisy Shah made her debut in 'Jai Ho', while Jacqueline Fernandez worked with Salman in 'Kick'.
Salman and Deepika were also one of the names speculated for Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi'. The movie is currently on the backburner.
On the other hand, Deepika has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in two other movies apart from 'Om Shanti Om'. The movies were - Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' and Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express'. Reportedly, they have also been paired together in YRF's upcoming movie 'Paltan'.
Interestingly, Deepika also met her husband Ranveer Singh on the sets of 'Ram-Leela'. The two started dating on the sets of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial.
