After Hrs was the first to tell you that Shoojit Sircar has signed Varun Dhawan for a dark emotional film, October. We also told you how Varun will be shooting for the entire film, sans any make-up.
Keeping in mind the space of the film, Shoojit has asked Varun to keep it real. Says a source, “Varun is in a completely different zone right now as he shoots for October. The film has a lot of scenes where his character has a meltdown and breaks into tears. The actor will be seen nursing a heartbreak in the film.”
Keeping it real
The team is currently shooting those scenes in Delhi. On one of the days, on the sets, when Varun was filming his first emotional scene, Shoojit walked up to him and gave him a bit of advice. The source adds, “Cry without any glycerine — that’s what Shoojit told Varun. He wants the audience to feel the pain and agony that Varun’s character goes through. Varun actually broke down on the sets and cried while shooting a scene. Shoojit and the entire crew were bowled over by Varun’s performance in that scene.”
Tearing up
Recently, Salman Khan and Sridevi have also said that they didn’t have to use glycerine for the emotional scenes in Tubelight and Mom, respectively. Ranveer Singh, too, has said that he brings himself in the emotional space of the scene he shoots on a particular day. For any breakdown scene, he turns to thinking about difficult episodes of his life for such scenes. Now, Varun, too, joins the list.
