In a latest development, Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash has been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau again on Saturday for interrogation in a drugs related case that is being probed as part of the ongoing investigations in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
According to sources, Karishma was interrogated by NCB for about 7 hours on Friday and is likely to be confronted with actress Deepika Padukone on Saturday when she appears before the federal agency.
Meanwhile, KWAN talent management company and Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash on Friday reportedly confessed before the NCB that Deepika had a WhatsApp group running dealing with drug chats.
According to sources, Karishma told the NCB officials during the probe that Deepika was the admin of a WhatsApp chat group related to drugs. There were only three people in the chat group including Jaya Saha, Karishma Prakash, and Deepika Padukone. The WhatsApp group chat on drugs dates back to 2017. While she confessed to smoking, Karishma denied that she had ever consumed drugs herelf.
Sources reveal that about Deepika, Karishma said that the actress is very health conscious and has never taken drugs.
Karishma has been Deepika's manager for the last eight years while the former has been associated with KWAN for nine years.
In addition to this, Rakul Preet Singh also appeared before NCB on Friday. Sources told Zee News, that Rakul confessed to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) about drugs chat with Rhea Chakraborty in 2018. Rakul told NCB officials that Rhea Chakraborty, in 2018, "spoke to her about getting weed which was at Rakul's house", however, Rakul has denied consumption.
As for Deepika, the actresses' name emerged in the investigation after her 2017 WhatsApp chats with manager Karishma Prakash were retrieved where the actress is allegedly seen asking for 'hash'. Soon after that, chats of Jaya Saha, an employee of the KWAN talent management agency also surfaced. She was probed and later admitted to having arranged CBD oil for Shraddha Kapoor, Madhu Mantena, and a few others.
On September 26, besides Deepika, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor are also expected to be questioned by the federal agency.
