Bride-to-be Deepika Padukone looks radiant at pre-wedding Nandi puja in Bengaluru

Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone's wedding festivities seem to have begun. Deepika's stylist Shaleena Nathani, on Friday, shared inside pictures from a traditional Nandi puja at the actress's Bengaluru residence.

It was told earlier that Deepika’s mom Ujjala Padukone will host a pre-wedding puja at their residence. According to tradition, the Nandi puja is performed at the groom and bride's houses, ten days before the wedding. A coconut is placed on top of a kalash (copper pot) filled with holy water. It marks the beginning of the wedding celebrations. The filled kalash symbolises a vessel full of 'amrit' or nectar of life.

The first invitation of the wedding is offered to God to seek his blessings. This ceremony is performed to bless the couple with a life of abundance, good health and longevity and also to ensure a hitch-free wedding ceremony.

“Love you to the mooon and back. So so so so so sooooo happy for you. Cant wait for it all to starttttt. You deserve all the happiness in the world and more. @deepikapadukone,” Shaleena captioned a photo.

In the picture, Deepika is looking radiant in a bright orange Sabyasachi suit with her hair tied in a neat bun. Her bridal glow is on point!

In another picture, she is seen sitting with her head bowed down during the puja. “To new beginnings,” Shaleena captioned the photo. Deepika’s hairstylist Gabriel Georgiou also thanked the Padmaavat actor for making him a part of the celebrations. “Honoured today to witness this #Puja - The beginning of a new chapter,” he captioned a picture.

There was traditional south Indian food prepared for all the guests.

Deepika and Ranveer announced their wedding on October 21. They are set to get married on November 14 and 15. Although they have not revealed their wedding destination, speculation is rife that they have booked the breathtaking Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como in Italy.

According to a report in Mid-Day, Deepika and Ranveer will have two wedding ceremonies. The four-day affair will begin with a sangeet function on November 13. This will be followed by a Kannadiga style wedding on November 14. On November 15, they will tie the knot again, as per Anand Karaj rituals.

“Since Deepika is a south Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A south Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding (Anand Karaj),” a source told the daily.

Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding in Italy will be followed by a reception in Bangalore for their extended family and another in Mumbai for their industry colleagues. “Ranveer’s and Deepika’s families have already made all the arrangements of travel for their contingent. They are expected to leave after November 10 for Italy. They have also hired a wedding planner who’s looking into all the details for the two receptions back in the bay," a source exclusively told DNA After Hrs.

“Deepika and Ranveer will wear Sabyasachi creations," the source added.
