Deepika Padukone to play cop Shakti Shetty in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, Ajay Devgn pens welcome note, first look out

Deepika Padukone will be seen playing cop Shakti Shetty in Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Again directed by Rohit Shetty.

On Sunday, Rohit Shetty surprised everyone when he announced that Deepika Padukone will be seen playing cop Shakti Shetty in his film Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn. Sharing the poster, he wrote, "Naari Sita ka bhi roop hai aur Durga ka bhi... Meet the most brutal and violent officer of our cop universe. SHAKTI SHETTY... MY Lady SINGHAM… Deepika Padukone."

Deepika also reshared the poster and wrote, "Introducing…Shakti Shetty!." Ajay Devgn welcomed her and wrote, "Welcome to my squad @deepikapadukone." Fans have reacted to the news, one of the them wrote, "Deepika Padukone is like a lucky charm in Bollywood at the moment. After Shahrukh Khan, she is coming with Ajay Devgan. Welcome her in Singham universe." The second one said, "Superstar Deepika !!!!  giving solid action and harley quinn vibes whoaaaa!! Masssss!!"

Singham Again is the 5th film in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe after Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. The film is slated to release on August 15, 2024, and stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh. The movie will clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule.

On September 16, Rohit, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer united for a Mahurat shot to begin the filming of the movie. Rohit Shetty took to his Instagram and shared the photos from the Mahurat shot. The filmmaker promised to give his all to the film and requested the audience's support and love. He wrote, “Singham, Singham returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi. 12 Years ago, when we made Singham, we never thought that it would turn into a Cop Universe! Today, we begin filming Singham Again.. the 5th film in our cop franchisee. ISME HUM APNI JAAN LAGA DENGE! (We will give it our all) BAS AAPKE PYAAR AUR DUA KI ZAROORAT HAI!
