Late veteran actress Sridevi's elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor has made her big Bollywood debut with Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak. The movie has managed to stike the right chords and the performance of Janhvi has been much appreciated by the sudience and the critics alike. While Janhvi is elated with the response to Dhadak, the young actress doesn't seem worried about the inevitable comparisons of her with her mom.
When asked about being compared to Sridevi, Janhvi told India Today, "I am not thinking about it at all. I neither followed her acting style nor tried to stay away from it in my film Dhadak. Frankly, I have seen only five of my mother's films."
When quizzed about the kind of scripts or films that she'd like to choose, Janhvi told the portal that she doesn't think she's at the stage where she can pick and choose. "Let’s see the kind of scripts that come to me. Of course, I’d love to play characters that challenge me as an actor. In fact, my mother always used to say, it’s not about the characters one plays, but how they are played," she added.
Dhadak also stars Ishaan Khatter along side Janhvi and is adapted from Nagraj Majule's Marathi blockbuster Sairat.
