The title track of Janhvi Kapoor-Ishaan Khatter's Bollywood debut film Dhadak is finally out and it indeed captures the heart beat of the romantic drama. Karan Johar released the song today with a tweet that read,"Let the feeling of someone making your heart go Dhadak take over!"Composed by Ajay-Atul, the soulful song has been sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Ajay Gogavale while the lyrics have been given by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The three-minute-thirty-five-second-long video sees Patri (Jahnvi) and Madhur (Ishaan) romancing through the beautiful palaces and streets of Udaipur. We had earlier got to see a glimpse of their romance in the trailer but the song truly celebrates the small-town, old-school romance which is innocent and rebellious all at the same time.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is the official remake of popular Marathi film Sairat. It tells the love story of Madhur and Patri, who belong to two different caste groups.
Karan Johar's Dharma Paroductions adds the right amount of grandeur and vibrancy to the otherwise raw and gut-wrenching story. Ishaan is impressive as an innocent small-town lover boy. He steals your heart from the word go. Jhanvi looks like the utlimate Indian beauty in the role of Patri. Very much like her late actor mother Sri Devi, she too commands a great presence on screen.
Shreya Ghoshal and Ajay Gogavale have truly woven magic with their voices. The slow pace-singing and the melodious music makes the title track haunting and heart-warming both at the same time. Their happy, innocent faces inevitably make us fear for their future.
