Salman Khan recently commented that the last seven-eight years of Sanjay Dutt’s life in his biopic Sanju should have been played by the actor himself. While Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Dutt in the movie, has already said that it hasn’t happened that an actor has played himself in his biopic, Dia Mirza says, “I don’t know if it would make sense. Sanjay Dutt starring in his own biopic sounds so strange. It would be awkward. Also, he is very shy even when we ask him if he has seen any part of the film.”
She adds that the beauty and charm of witnessing your life through another person’s performance is what makes it so refreshing. “Honestly, Sanjay wouldn’t want to do it. But you never know, maybe it would be interesting. However, Ranbir (Kapoor) is doing it and he is awesome,” smiles Dia.
