Sonam Kapoor's Mehendi function that's going on in full swing at Sundeck in Bandra has turned out to be quite a star-studded affair. Apart from the Kapoor clan, Sonam's near and dear ones from the industry made sure to make heads turn, following the dress code to the T and making it an affair to remember. Just yesterday we saw how the friends of the bride-to-be had a gala time at Anil Kapoor's Juhu residence. What totally took our hearts away was when Sonam Kapoor stole a moment and hugged beau Anand Ahuja while dancing on Lat Lat Gayi song from Race 3. Monday's Mehendi function and chuda ceremony were no different, only with lot more B-Town celebs adding to the fun and madness.
Sonam looked stunning in an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla chikankari lehenga. The designer duo, who happen to be one of the favourites of the actress, is known for their Indian ethnic wear with chikankari and signature mirror work. While we all marvel at the beauty that Sonam's pre-wedding ensemble is, not many know that it took about 18 months for the lehenga to be made.
In a conversation with Vogue, the designer duo revealed the same saying, "This ensemble is a labour of love and joy. Sonam is our absolute favourite and for her wedding, it had to be a fantasy piece that set new creative standards for us in order to do full justice to her and this sacred occasion. She ordered it two years ago and it’s taken multiple teams of artisans eighteen months to create."
Check out the detailing that has gone into its making:
The designer duo also shared that every panel of Sonam's lehenga skirt has a distinct set of motifs which is done in chikankari. No wonder it took such a long to be prepared.!

Sonam will tie the knot to Anand on Tuesday at her aunt's bungalow Rockdale in the morning. The celebrations and wedding bash will follow soon after in the evening at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.
