Director Rumi Jaffery called for interrogation over signing Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty for film

Director Rumi Jaffrey has been called to Bandra Police Station for interrogation in actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. He had recently revealed signing a movie which would feature Sushant with his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty in the lead role.

He had revealed signing Sushant and Rhea for a rom-com. The movie would have marked real-life couple Sushant-Rhea's first collaboration in a movie.

Before the movie, Rumi had directed Rhea in 'Chehre'. The movie, featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles, is slated for release soon.

Over 38 people have been interrogated in Sushant's death case. His friends, family members, co-workers, and househelp too were questioned in the case. Rhea, 'Dil Bechara' actress Sanjana Sanghi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra were also questioned in the case.

34-year-old Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. The actor was touted to be undergoing depression for past six months. The actor was receiving treatment from four doctors, out of who one told Mumbai Police that Sushant had bipolar disease.
