Kangana Ranaut is back to entertain the audience with her performance. The trailer of the actress' much-awaited directorial Emergency, wherein she plays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is finally out and has left the audience excited.

On Wednesday, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram and shared an intriguing trailer of Emergency. The trailer gave a glimpse into the 'darkest period' of Indian history. It showed a young Indira's relationship with her father, the late PM Jawaharlal Nehru, as she entered politics. It then goes on to show how she handles wars, political unrest, and much more during the course of her long career. The trailer also talks about how Indira Gandhi's life ended in a tragedy after getting much hate from the netizens. 

Sharing the video on Instagram, the actress wrote, "INDIA is INDIRA & INDIRA is INDIA!!! The Most Powerful Woman In The History of the Country, The Darkest Chapter She Wrote in its History! Witness ambition colliding with tyranny. #EmergencyTrailer Out Now! #KanganaRanaut’s #Emergency Unfolds In cinemas worldwide on 6th September." 

Netizens hailed her performance in the trailer and expressed their excitement for the film. One of the comments read, "5th National Award-winning performance." Another user wrote, "India is Indira, Indira is India and Indira is Kangana. Such a picture-perfect trailer." Another user commented, "Wow.. what a trailer.. got goosebumps." Another comment read, "Another national award waiting." Another user wrote, "What a powerful trailer." 

Kangana Ranaut's self-directorial also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 6. Talking about the film, Kangana Ranaut said in a statement, "I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare's Macbeth, the essence of Emergency is the destruction wrought when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints, it is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy and I am eagerly awaiting its worldwide release on 6th September 2024."
