Exclusive details of Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh's Italian wedding and Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas' royal nuptials

Come November and the Bollywood brigade will begin their festive rounds of various parties at the homes of the usual suspects like Shah Rukh Khan, Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra, so on and so forth. But this year, the celebrations won’t just end with the festival of lights. There are two huge Bollywood weddings lined up in mid-November and the beginning of December, so it will be an extended period of revelry for many.

NO CLASH!

After Hrs was the first to tell you that Priyanka Chopra is tying the knot with Nick Jonas on December 2 in Jodhpur. So, when Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced that they are getting married on November 14-15, speculations were rife that DP’s reception would clash with PC’s wedding. Fortunately, that’s not the case. Says a source, “Dippy and Ranveer’s wedding is happening in Italy in the presence of family and close friends. The power couple will take their marital vows at Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como. They will have two receptions — one in Bengaluru on November 21 at The Leela for their extended families and the other in Mumbai for their industry friends, which is scheduled for November 28 (not December 1, as reported) at the Grand Hyatt.”

This also means that right after the Padmaavat actors’ nuptials, it will be their Bajirao Mastani co-star who will walk down the aisle. Another source reveals, “Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, wants to have a traditional Indian wedding for her daughter. So, there will be a mehendi and sangeet ceremonies on November 30 and December 1. PC and Nick are planning to fly down their closest buddies for their big moment. They have locked two venues in Jodhpur for the three-day function.” 

The source adds, “Priyanka and Nick’s sangeet and bachelor’s night will happen at Mehrangarh Fort whereas the nuptials will be organised at the Umaid Bhawan Palace. The couple has also reportedly planned a huge reception for their entire B-Town gang in Mumbai later that month.” We called PC’s mother Madhu Chopra who told us that she is out of the country and wouldn’t be able to comment on anything now.

PREPARATIONS IN FULL SWING

With two of Bollywood’s biggest heroines tying the knot, their families are pulling out all stops to ensure that it’s a memorable affair. The khabri informs, “Ranveer’s and Deepika’s families have already made all the arrangements of travel for their contingent. They are expected to leave after November 10 for Italy. They have also hired a wedding planner who’s looking into all the details for the two receptions back in the bay. Priyanka and Nick visited Jodhpur recently and locked everything.” Both the actresses have already picked their respective outfits for the D-Day. “Deepika and Ranveer will wear Sabyasachi creations whereas Priyanka has picked Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla to design her bridal wear.”

WILL THEY ATTEND EACH OTHER’S WEDDINGS?

Surprisingly, when PeeCee got engaged to her pop-star boyfriend, she had invited Ranveer, but not Deepika. DP’s absence at the do had raised many eyebrows given the relationship the two heroines shared during Bajirao Mastani. Now, with their wedding and reception dates not clashing, will we see the two actresses attending each other’s wedding? Your guess is as good as ours.
