Gauahar Khan is all set to celebrate her favourite festival with sister Nigaar Khan and her close friends.
Muslims all across the world are gearing up to sight the crescent moon for Eid or Eid-al-Fitr and concluding the holy month of Ramadan. This year India is expected to observe Chand Raat on June 16 i.e. Saturday. The day, that kick-starts the month of Shawaal, sees people purchasing new clothes, preparing special food items, and spending time with their family members and relatives.
And it's no different for Bollywood actress Gauahar Khan, who is all set to celebrate her favourite festival with sister Nigaar Khan and her close friends.
Talking about this year's Eid preperations, Gauahar exclusively told DNA, "I am cooking myself. All of Ramadan I didn't cook, my sister Nigaar was here and she was pampering me with all the food and everything. But, on Eid I am going to cook myself for my friends. The preperations have already started. And ofcourse Eid is about spreading love, doing charity, helping people, making people happy, trying to meet whoever you can within the family. It's just a happy atmosphere. So yeah, Eid is going to be celebrated very much at home, this year."
When asked about her fondest childhood memory of Eid, an elated Gauahar told us, "Every Eid I used to buy a new wallet right from the age of four. My mother used to get me a new purse every Eid so that I could collect Eidi (gifts/money received as blessings from the elders) in that and that purse would be with me all day. I wouldn't leave it even for a second. At the end of day, didn't matter if I had ten rupees or 2000 rupees, but as long as I collected Eidi in the purse, it would mean the world to me."
Ask her what's a typical Eid day like at her house, and she says, "A typical pre-Eid day is chaotic because the moment it's announced that it's Eid, you start preparing, cooking, trying to put mehendi if you have the time, cleaning the house, making sure that there's everything new, changing bedsheets and preparing the house for Eid so that your friends can see your beautiful house when they come.
And yeah, basically cooking lots of food. Sheer Khoorma, especially so that early in the morning after namaaz you have that Sheer Khoorma to eat. I really miss my mom this year because she is not here and usually she is always there cooking early in the morning. But, this year I am doing it all."
For Gauahar Khan, Eid means everything
Gauahar's parents won't be around this year during Eid
She also posted a really cute video on her Youtube page where her sister Nigaar is seen doing all the Eid shopping, while Gauahar is shooting her.

The actress wants the world's happiness for her fans, this Eid. "My fans, who I call my crazy lot, are the most amazing thing in my life. The happiness that they bring in my life is something that I can never even describe in words. I thank each and everyone of them and I wish that on Eid they are just blessed and happy for ever," she concluded.
