First ever poster of Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi was unveiled on Wednesday. Celebrating the Independence Day 2018, the poster recalls the warrior spirit of the monarch who was one of the early freedom fighters, an important figure in the Indian rebellion of 1857.
Kangana, dressed as Rani Laxmi Bai, is seen charging into the battle against the British with her kid wrapped to her back and fierce expressions on her face.
The movie also stars Atul Kulkarni, Sonu Sood, and Ankita Lokhande in pivotal roles. Ankita plays the character of Jhalakbari bai who was a close friend of Rani Laxmibai’s.
In the past, the lives of some great rulers have been depicted on screen, but the story of the valiant queen has hardly been seen on celluloid.
The movie will clash with Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 to make most of Republic Day box office.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi, will arrive in theatres on January 25, 2019.
