The prolific filmmaker has an interesting line-up of films

Sajid Nadiadwala is to the manor born. But that hardly means he will rest on his laurels. “I don’t know anything but movies. They are my lifeline,” he says. Among the very few producers to always have a couple of projects in different stages of production, he has an interesting line-up for his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd, in the coming months.

Last year, his Judwaa 2 did huge numbers. Drawing inspiration from that fact, Sajid has busied himself with his other big-ticket productions. At present, he has at least one movie planned each with Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tiger Shroff.

He is currently co-writing Kick 2 with Salman, which he will direct as well. And, his production team is putting together Housefull 4, the next instalment of the laugh riot with Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol and others. Of course, there is a difference here. Sajid, who is writing this film, has planned the reincarnation horror-comedy on a mammoth Baahubali-style canvas. Further, the filmmaker ventures into a realistic zone with Super 30, which will show Hrithik in a different light; as a mathematics genius. And even as Baaghi 2 opens in cinemas today, he has already announced its third instalment with Tiger.

A trade source says, “The kind of movies he has on the anvil is proof enough that the filmmaker not only knows the pulse of the audience, but also has a keen eye for talent.”

At the same time, he also knows how to capitalise on his actors’ strengths and collaborate with them on projects that do justice to their talent. With so many films under production, 2018 surely looks like a busy year for Nadiadwala and his banner.
