With Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is back roaring loud on the big screen, and his fans are loving to see him back in their favourite action avatar. Anil Sharma-directed Gadar 2 has been released with positive responses from the masses and critics. Moviegoers are celebrating the return of old-school raw action. The sequel to 22-year-old Gadar is winning hearts, and if Gadar 2 become a blockbuster, fans can expect the third instalment of Gadar.
Yes, that's the news. When Utkarsh Sharma (Charan Jeet Singh from Gadar 2) interacted with DNA India, we asked him about the future of the franchise. Utkarsh spilt the beans about the possibility of Gadar 3, and said, "Abhi pata nahi, but ek baar Shaktimaan (Talwar, the writer) ji ne tease zaroor kiya tha. Pata nahi woh kahani kab okay hogi." Joking about Gadar 3, Sharma suggested, "20 saal lag gaye iss kahani ko. Toh Gadar 3 main pata chale ki Jeete ke bhi bacche ho jaye, and dada, beta and pote, sab mil ke action karte hue dikhe (Utkarsh laughed)." Jokes apart, Utkarsh did reveal that the writer has an idea for Part 3 and agreed that Gadar has the potential of going ahead as the next big franchise.
In the same conversation, Utkarsh declared that Sunny Deol is the last action hero who can ace the raw action genre convincingly. "Sunny sir is the last action hero in the entire world, who can do raw action with the conviction he has. Unse upar koi nahi hai" Sharma further added that even Hollywood's biggest heroes aren't convincing action stars without their larger-than-life superhero characters. "Hollywood used to have such heroes like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bruce Willis; but now they don't have any such action stars. Unke pass se agar unke superhero costume le le, toh ek bhi aisa hero nahi hai jo aisa action kar sakta hai (If we takeaway their superhero costumes, then they don't have such actors, who can perform such action scenes). We are blessed that we have a superstar, who is best in action and he knows how to add emotions to it. He also has an impeccable command over his dialogue delivery as well."
