'Gangubai Kathiawadi' teaser out: Alia Bhatt as the 'mafia queen' will blow your mind

Alia Bhatt will blow your mind with her magnetic onscreen presence and flawless dialogue delivery.

Makers of 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' on Wednesday dropped the teaser of the much-awaited film on the occasion of renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's birthday.

Touted to be Bhansali's biggest project to date, in the 30-second teaser, actress Alia Bhatt, who essays the role of Gangubai Kothewali a brothel owner and matriarch from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favour, will blow your mind with her magnetic onscreen presence and flawless dialogue delivery. 

With just one look at the teaser, one can say that Alia has done a fabulous job of getting into the skin of the character be it owning the way the 'mafia queen' would dress up and exude confidence.

Earlier on Wednesday, Alia took to her Instagram handle to share a new and intriguing poster of the film. In the photo, the actor is seen in green ethnic attire with long braided hair and a veil placed on her head. She is seen keeping her legs on a chair and giving an intense look with a minimal smile.

Gangubai Kathiawadi marks SLB's 10th directorial and the makers announced it as "Fiery and feisty, she's ready to reign! Celebrating the man, his vision and 10th directorial, #GangubaiKathiawadi. Teaser out today. In cinemas on 30th July 2021."

A story, based on the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' written by S. Hussain Zaidi, the film showcases the rise of a girl named, Gangubai Kothewali. 

Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' marks the first collaboration between him and Alia. This project will also see Bhansali Productions collaborating with Jayantilal Gada's Pen India Limited.
