Television queen Mouni Roy is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Gold' this Independence Day. On Friday, the makers released the first video song 'Naino Ne Baandhi' from the film that depicts the romantic side of Tapan Das, who is otherwise a ruthless hockey coach on field.

Penned by Arko and sung by Yasser Desai, 'Naino Ne Baandhi' is a through and through Mouni Roy song. She is refreshing as Mrs. Monobina Das, a simple, dominating yet affectionate Bengali wife. Apart from the fact that how beautiful she looks in Bengali sarees, the 'Naagin' actress impresses with her acting chops. Unlike her television shows, she delivers a subtle and nuanced performance in the film.

The only thing that stands out in this mediocre romantic melody is Akshay's heart-warming chemistry with Mouni. There are small-small moments in the song that beautifully establish the bond Tapan shares with Monobina. I must admit that I was quite apprehensive about this on-screen jodi because of their age-difference, but this song has definitely changed my mind.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, Gold is written and directed by Reema Kagti and is all set to hit the theatres on August 15. The sports drama, that also features Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Vineet Kumar Singh in key roles, recreates India's historic win for hockey at the 1948 Olympics.
