Hansal Mehta's Omerta, which has won several accolades and been featured at the Toronto International Film Festival, is a high intensity drama based on Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, a British terrorist of Pakistani origin who is infamous for his role in the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

Starring Rajkummar Rao, the film is all set to now release on April 20, 2018. The actor took to Twitter to confirm the news and wrote, “After #Shahid, #CityLights #Aligarh & #Bose, we are back together with #Omertà releasing on 20th April,2018. @mehtahansal @ShaileshRSingh.”

Like most of Hansal Mehta's previous films, Omerta, which was also featured at the recently held Jio MAMI film festival with packed audiences, is based on true life events including terror related events.

Produced by Nahid Khan, Omerta is Hansal’s fifth collaboration with Rajkummar after Shahid, City Lights, Aligarh and Bose.
