Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan's daughter has turned out to be the brightest star in the family and the proud parents can't stop gushing about their 'most balanced child'. In an interview to Hindustan Times, Mahesh Bhatt revealed that she has taken an autograph from the 25 year old star. He said, One of my most precious treasures, which I’ve preserved, is an autograph that Alia gave me after her first film, Student of the Year (2012), became hit. She had written: ‘THANK YOU PAPA FOR NOT HELPING ME AT ALL’. I think that’s something I flaunt to the world because nothing could be more librating for a parent that to see his own child take off and have a kind of a spectacular launch without their help and that speaks volumes of her talent. I have never in any way given her a shoulder or felt the need to suggest to her what roles to take, which project to do or which she should not do. She is, wherever she is today, because of her own choices and not because of her father or her mother. She is a self-made girl."

While Alia Bhatt is away from her family and shooting for Brahmastra in Bulgaria, her mother Soni Razdan who wished she was with her on her birthday, poured her heart out in the most adorable way on Instagram. As a proud mother, she spilled the beans on how Alia got her name. Sharing pictures of baby Alia, Soni captioned it, "On this day 25 years ago you were born Alia. Your name had already been chosen in my head. Alia Knightly was a lovely British Indian model and when I read that name I had decided if I had a girl we would call her Alia. Luckily your father agreed. I had no idea what the name meant then. It was many years later that I found out it means ‘exalted’. And that you most certainly are. A month before you were born I had a dream. I saw your face clearly in that dream. Since then in these 25 years you have scaled great heights in your young life... true to your name. On this day, your birthday, I wish you all the best as always... but I also wish that you keep your core self intact. Your special simple sweet self intact through all the craziness and the heady ups and the not so heady downs of life ... don’t lose sight of who you really are inside.
