The #MeToo movement is fortunately exposing the loathe-worthy side of the Hindi film industry and the entertainment industry at large.
The campaign started with Tanushree Dutta's accusations against Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets Horn Ok Pleasss 10 years ago, have in a way extended courage and support to several women out there.
The actress, who made a bold move for herself, opened doors to other women who have faced a similar situation like her and have helped them speak up about the unwanted sexual encounters they faced.
A recent revelation that has stunned everyone is the rape allegation on Alok Nath by a noted writer-producer.
While Alok Nath's lawyer said that the actor is traumatised after being accused of sexual harassment, with the latter denying that he is done anything like that, another woman who worked with him during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain has accused Alok Nath of mistreating her.
The lady narrated the incident that happened with her and also stated why she kept her mouth shut for all this while.
In an interview with Mid-Day, she was quoted as saying "We were shooting for a night scene and I had taken a change of costumes to him. Once I handed him the clothes, he started stripping in front of me. I was taken aback and tried to make my way out of the room as soon as possible. When I tried to run out, he grabbed my hand and manhandled me. I remember yanking my hand out of his grip and rushing out of the room."
She further added that she however couldn't report the whole incident to the producer- director of the film Sooraj Barjatya.
"I was shell-shocked; I couldn't muster the courage to speak up against him. He was extremely close to the Barjatyas, and Sooraj sir would have taken it badly," added the survivor.
Meanwhile, Sushant Singh, the general secretary of the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA), has assured the noted writer-producer that they will send a show cause notice to Alok Nath.
