As Gadar 2 continues to break box office records, Sunny Deol's stepmother and veteran actress Hema Malini watched the film recently and shared her thoughts while talking to the press outside the theatre. Dharmendra's second wife Hema said that Anil Sharma has beautifully directed the film and brought back the eras of 1970s and 1980s on the big screen.
In the video shared by the paparazzo Varinder Chawla, she said, "Gadar dekh kar aayi hun. Bohut hi accha laga. Jo expected tha waise hi tha. Bahut hi interesting hai. Aesa lag raha tha ki 70s aur 80s ka us zamane ka film ke jaesa ek daur hai. Us daur ko leke aaye hai Anil Sharma ji aur bahut beautiful direction kiya hai (I just watched Gadar. I liked it a lot. What was expected, it's exactly that. It is very interesting. It felt like a film from the 70s and 80s era. Anil Sharma has shown that era, it has been directed beautifully)."
"Sunny is superb, Utkarsh, Anil Sharma ji's son unhone ne bhi bohut sundar acting kiya hai. Jo nayi ladki hai, woh bhi bohut acchi hai. Yeh picture dekh kar rashtra ke prati jo bhav hone chahiye, patriotism, woh bahut hain. Muslim ke prati jo bhaichaara hona chahiye, us vishay ko last mein leke aaye hai (Utkarsh, Anil Sharma ji's son he has also done beautiful acting. The new girl is also very good. After watching the film, the patriotism that should be felt towards the country is there. The matter of brotherhood towards the Muslim has also been shown towards the end). It's a nice message for India and Pakistan", the Dream Girl actress continued.
Set before the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the Sunny Deol film takes forward the story seventeen years after the events in the first part. Sunny Deol's Tara Singh crosses the border to rescue his son Jeete aka Charanjeet Singh, from the clutches of the Pakistani Major General Hamid Iqbal, played by Manish Wadhwa.
