Speculations about Kareena Kapoor Khan contesting Lok Sabha 2019 elections from Bhopal were rife....

Kareena Kapoor Khan has finally reacted to the reports stating that she might contest Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from Bhopal. The actress has dismissed all the speculations, calling them baseless and has maintained that her focus will only be on movies.

A report on Pinkvilla quoted the Veere Di Wedding actress as saying, "There is no truth to these reports. I have not been approached for this whatsoever. My focus is and only will be movies.”

Those who've come in late, Congress corporators from Bhopal believed that Kareena is the most suitable candidate to contest Lok Sabha 2019 elections from Bhopal since her in-laws -- the Pataudis find roots in the city. Apart from that, the actress has a humongous fan following which also makes her an ideal contestant to represent Congress in Bhopal.

The local Congress corporator had requested party chief Rahul Gandhi to field Kareena from the Bhopal constituency in Madhya Pradesh in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. In a letter written to Gandhi on Sunday, corporator Yogendra Singh Chauhan claimed the actress would be the most suitable candidate to defeat the BJP in Bhopal seat, held by the saffron party since long.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is the wife of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who is the son of former Indian cricketer late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, scion of the erstwhile Bhopal state. Pataudi had in 1991 unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha poll from Bhopal, a BJP bastion, on Congress' ticket.
