The 2017 film Hindi Medium, which received positive response from movie goers and critics alike, and did pretty well at the box office as well, saw actors Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in lead roles.
Since quite some time, speculations were rife that the makers are planning the film's sequel, and had in fact, had gone all the way to meet Irrfan abroad for the same.
However, according to the latest report, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are being considered to play the lead.
Not only this, rumours also suggest that they have also started initial script reading sessions.
Earlier, it was reported that Irrfan Khan will return for the sequel and actress Sara Ali Khan will play his daughter.
However, due to the actor's ill health, he is staying away from films at the moment.
Now, if this report turns out to be true, it will be interesting to see the hit jodi of Shah Rukh and Kajol together in a content-driven film.
However, nothing has yet been confirmed about the film or the cast.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol were last seen in the film Dilwale which was directed by Rohit Shetty, and also starred Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
Meanwhile, Hindi Medium narrated the story of parents who struggled for their daughter’s admission in a good school.
The film also deals with the humiliation that people face when they can’t speak fluent English.
The film produced by Dinesh Vijan, was directed by Saket Chaudhary.
