Daughter of actors Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan is being appreciated and applauded for her terrific performance in her debut film Kedarnath which released on December 7.
The film directed by Abhishek Kapoor also starred Sushant Singh Rajput.
While Kedarnath is climbing the success ladder and doing well at the box office, Sara is busy promoting her next- Simmba, opposite Ranveer Singh.
Simmba has been directed by Rohit Shetty.
And guess what? It was Abhishek Kapoor who encouraged Rohit Shetty to cast Sara Ali Khan in Simmba!
According to a report by Bollywoodlife, the Kedarnath director revealed that he encouraged Shetty to cast Sara in his action-drama.
When asked if Sara came to him to discuss about Simmba, Abhishek Kapoor said, "In the middle when we were not shooting and our dates were moving around, she was keen to do the film. I was the one who called up Rohit Shetty and encouraged him to take her. She is an actor, she is here to make a career. If she finished shooting for me and my movie is getting done, she should be doing another film. She should be free to do whatever she wants. That's how Simmba happened actually. That's how it started."
It's actually interesting and new to see a debutante getting to prove her mettle twice in quick succession.
Meanwhile, Simmba which also stars Sonu Sood, Ajay Devgn, Ashutosh Rana among others, is slated to hit the silver screens on December 28.
