'I strongly condemn the violence and tyranny being conducted against Kashmiris': Atif Aslam

Pakistani singer Atif Aslam reacts on India's decision to scrap Article 370 and Article 35A

A number of celebrities have expressed their thoughts on India's decision to scrap Article 370 and 35A, the latest one to join the line is Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. The popular singer who has done playback singing for quite a lot of Bollywood songs, took to his Twitter page and shared that he strongly condemns the 'violence and tyranny being conducted against the Kashmiris.' Post scrapping of Article 370 and 35A of the Constitution of India, the state of Jammu and Kashmir has now been split into two Union Territories - Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. 

"Happy to share something very big with all of you. Inshallah I’ll be leaving soon for the most important journey of my life. Before departing for Hajj, I would like to ask for everyone’s forgiveness, be it fans, family, friends. Apologies for hurting anyone’s sentiments. kindly keep me in your prayers Also I strongly condemn the violence and tyranny being conducted against the Kashmiris. May Allah bless lives of the innocent in #Kashmir and all over the world" read Atif Aslam's tweet.

The Twitterati didn't waste any time in expressing their views on Atif's tweet. The singer was brutally trolled for his views. 

One of the users wrote, "To add a political statement when you are going for such a spiritual journey is extremely sad. Assume you will find it difficult to sing for Indian films for a long time now”. 

Another netizen wrote, "#AtifAslam as a human being i strongly condemn your stand as an artist which is false and purely an assumption  ..wonder how u didn’t think of this whilst making money in hay days  .when on a pilgrimage ..calm your mind and soul n stay spiritual NOT political!#SelfishArtistAslam". 

Another Twitter use wrote, "Ask your government to handle Pakistan properly first"

Atif has now deleted his controversial tweet from Twitter.
