Ranveer Singh's performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanajy Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat has become the talk of the town. Even while the actor was shooting for the film, there were reports stating that the actor had to tap into such deep zones of negative emotions that he may have to seek help from a shrink to get back to his normal self.
Post the success of Padmaavat, Ranveer shared his experience of playing the menacing and shrewd Khilji while interacting with a group of media persons. He revealed how the character had impacted his instinctive reactions. He had delved so deep into the character that he almost ended up physically assaulting someone on the sets of the film.
Here's what happened in the the words of Ranveer Singh himself:
"A really strange incident happened off camera on the sets. Somebody made a mistake and I turned towards that person and I was going to physically assault him as Alauddin Khilji. I was like 'wait a second, this is not real.' Suddenly my instinctive reaction was that of the character's and not mine."
The actor however refuted the reports of seeing a shrink to get back to his normal self. He revealed that instead, he spoke to his family members and friends about everyday stuff and that helped him get back to being the person that he actually is.
