24 years back, on May 21, 1994, Sushmita Sen became the first Indian ever to be crowned as Miss Universe. The actress was just 18 when she won the prestigious title and the beauty pageant. Marking the 24th year of her being crowned as Miss Universe, a nostalgic Sushmita Sen took to her Instagram account to reminisce the moment and thank her fans, supporters and well-wishers in a heartwarming post.
Sushmita shared a picture of herself and wrote alongside, "I was 18 yrs old when #India won Miss Universe for the very first time on 21st May 1994....I am 42 now, still a ‘Miss’ with a ‘Universe’ inside of me!!!! nothing has changed except the year’s. Thank you guys for the letters, cards & gifts ..but mostly for ‘Re-membering’ the Universe is lovingly abundant & so what we give out, we get more of! I celebrate with you India & Philippines (my second home). Here’s looking at you!!! I love you guys!"
After her iconic win at Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen went on to amaze us all with her Bollywood movies. Not just an actress, Sushmita Sen is also a single mother to two daughters, a model, fitness freak and above all, an inspiration to millions of women across the globe.

During a press conference, Sushmita shared that she wants to do a film for her fans, to give back all the love that she gets from them. "I have to do a film with which I can take a bow. I would like to give back all the love...I owe it to the people who love me. It doesn't matter if they are five or five thousand. I have to do a film for them and make sure that it's a huge hit. I'm taking my time but I'll do it," she said.
