Popular singer and film producer Satram Rohra, who is popularly known for backing the blockbuster Bollywood film Jai Santoshi Maa, passed away on July 18, 2024. 

On Thursday, Radio Sindhi took to its Instagram and shared the news of the sad demise of producer Satram Rohra and wrote, "We are deeply saddened to share that the Famous Singer & Film Producer Dada Satram Rohra passed away on 18th July 2024. May Almighty rest his noble soul in peace and give strength to his family in this difficult time. Dada Satram Rohra gave so many Superhit songs
along with famous Singers like Dada Ram Panjwani, Bhagwanti Navani, Kamla Keswani & many more. He Produced the blockbuster Sindhi Movie Hal Ta Bhaji Haloon & the Hindi Movie Jai Santoshi Maa. He is the only one who could convince Legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar to sing a Sindhi Song. Dada Satram Rohra's demise is a great loss for the Sindhi Community & the void can not be filled by anyone." 

The producer's funeral was held on July 18 in the evening at Sonapur Hindu Samshan Bhumi near Kalpana Cinema, Kulra West as reported by Radio Sindhi. Satram Rohra was born on June 16, 1939, in Sindh (now in Pakistan). Apart from being a film producer, Satram was also a singer. He made his debut as a film producer with Shera Daku, which was released in 1966, and Rocky Mera Naam in 1973, starring Sanjeev Kumar, Mumtaz Begum, and A.K. Hangal. These were among his initial films as a producer. After this, he produced Jai Santoshi Maa, which turned out to be a blockbuster. Following this, he also made Nawab Sahib, Ghar Ki Laj, Karan, and Jai Kaali, starring Jeetendra and Hema Malini.

Jai Santoshi Maa was a family drama released in 1975. Directed by Vijay Sharma, the film starred Kanan Kaushal, Ashish Kumar, Rajnibala, Anita Guha, Bharat Bhushan, Bela Bose, and others. Usha Mangeshkar sang the devotional songs for the film along with Mahendra Kapoor and the famous poet Kavi Pradeep, who wrote the song's lyrics. Made on a low budget, the film became one of the most successful films at the box office.
