Jawan box office collections have crossed Rs 300 crore in India and are inching towards Rs 600 crore globally.

Jawan passed the all-important Monday test but not without some minor bruising. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer broke virtually all records at the box office in its four-day extended weekend. On Monday, the film was expected to how a steep drop, a norm for films of this size and scale. The drop was big indeed but courtesy the large numbers Jawan did over the weekend, the earning on Monday was still high.

Jawan earned Rs 30 crore net across all languages in India on Monday, the fifth day of its release. The figure is a 62% drop from its record-breaking Rs 80-crore haul on Sunday, the highest-ever in Hindi film history. With this, Jawan has taken its five-day domestic net earning to Rs 316 crore, again the highest in history. In Hindi alone, the film has earned over Rs 275 crore with the remaining coming from the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions.

Globally too, Jawan has performed beyond expectations, surpassing the earnings mark set by Shah Rukh’s Pathaan earlier in the year. The film has earned roughly $24 million at the overseas box office , giving it a worldwide gross of over Rs 575 crore in the first five days. Jawan should soar past the 600-crore mark on Tuesday and be looking at crossing the 700-crore mark too before the second weekend arrives.

Directed by Atlee, the film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. The presence of these three names, along with Anirudh Ravinchander’s music, has made Jawan a viable name in the south as well. The film has netted over Rs 100 crore from the south market already, including Rs 40 crore from the dubbed versions alone.

Going by its current pace, Jawan should be aiming to surpass Pathaan’s lifetime earnings of Rs 1050 crore and also make a run for the marks set by KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore) and RRR (Rs 1230 crore).
