Ranveer Singh has said multiple times that he locked himself in his room for 21 days to prep for his character Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat.

Jim Sarbh and Ranveer Singh shared screen space in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmaavat in which the former played Malik Kafur and the latter played Alauddin Khilji. Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor were seen portraying Padmavati and Ratan Singh in the 2018 film.

In a recent interview, while promoting his latest web series Made In Heaven, Jim Sarbh slammed the actors for their over exaggerated acting process as he said, "There are all those actors who are like ‘You know, I was so stuck in my character that I had to get mental therapy for weeks after’. I was like ‘Shut up bro. You didn’t even know your lines on the day', what nonsense."

While the Rocket Boys actor didn't take any names, Reddit thinks that he is talking about Ranveer Singh. The Gully Boy actor has mentioned multiple times since Padmaavat's release that he had isolated himself from the world by locking himself in his room for 21 days to prep for the character. It was also widely reported that Singh consulted a psychiatrist after completing the film's shoot to get out of his 'Khilji zone'.

When the clip from the interview was shared on the subreddit 'BollyBlindsNGossip', one netizen wrote, "It's Ranveer for sure. SLB (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) mentioned this in an interview. Another comment read, "I don't think Jim is ragging on Ranveer's process here. What he's trying to say is that some people like Ranveer overexaggerate their process to others. He's clearly saying that this person was acting like he needed therapy to get out of character, but in reality didn't even know the dialogues on the day of the shoot. So he's lying about how much he prepped and how much he was consumed by the process."

Ranveer Singh won multiple Best Actor awards for his negative performance in Padmaavat, which also became one of the highest-grossing Indian films collecting over Rs 500 crore at the box office worldwide.
