Kajol is all set to be seen in a Netflix original film titled Tribhanga produced by Ajay Devgn under his home banner Ajay Devgn Ffilms and directed by Renuka Shahane. Along with the actor, the film also stars Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar in the lead roles. Meanwhile, talking about the plot, Tribhanga is an Odissi dance pose that is disjointed and asymmetrical, yet mesmerising and sensuous, so much like the lives of the three women characters of the film — Nayan, Anu and Masha.
The shooting of the film has been completed and post-production work is going on. It was all set to release in 2021. However, Netflix urged the makers to pull the release to this year itself as demand is pretty high. Talking about the same, a source told Mid Day, "While Netflix has several offerings lined up, Tribhanga is one of its few projects that are close to the finish line. The editing is complete; only the background music and VFX are pending. So, the OTT platform has requested the producer to expedite the delivery of the final product."
While co-producer Siddharth Malhotra shared, "We have not discussed a date yet, but given the current situation, Tribhanga may drop online this year. It can be confirmed only after we submit the film to Netflix. After the delivery, the OTT service has its internal processes, which take a month or two."
He concluded by saying, "We can't resume work until the studios open their doors. Considering the work remaining on sound effects and VFX, we will need a month or two to deliver the final product. Even if the lockdown is lifted by mid-May, we should be able to deliver it latest by July."
