Kangana Ranaut made headlines earlier this weekend when she revealed in an interview with Zee News that she wouldn’t mind joining politics in future. She said that while she is quite young at the moment, she would be ready to serve her nation in future. Now, it looks like Kangana is determined to make her political views heard, especially with elections not that far off.
Kangana attended the screening of the short film Chalo Jeete Hain, which is reportedly inspired by the early life of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. “The film has been made beautifully. It shows how Prime Minister Modi being a sensitive child went through such extreme circumstances. But I feel this film is not about him. Rather it is about us – how the society needs to be together to rise. This film is just a small part of his life,” Kangana said at the screening.
When asked about her views on the last four years of Narendra Modi and the BJP rule, she commented, “He (Prime Minister Modi) is the most deserving candidate. It’s not like he has reached this place because of his mother and father. He is the rightful leader of the democracy. We have voted him as our Prime Minister. This cannot be taken away from him. This is his well-deserved place which he has earned after sheer hardwork. So, there shouldn’t be any doubt about his credibility as a Prime Minister.”
On being asked to comment on whether Prime Minister Modi should continue to stay in power, she replied, “Of course. Why not? Five years are very less to take the nation out of a pit. Our country is in a pit, we need to pull it out.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana is gearing up for the release of Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi, based on the life of Rani Lakshmibai, one of the heroes of the revolt of 1857. The film is scheduled for release on January 25, 2019. She will also be seen in Mental Hai Kya? opposite her Queen co-star, Rajkummar Rao.
