Kangana Ranaut-starrer Chandramukhi 2 took a slow start at the box office and the actress was trolled for the same. Here's how she reacted to the negativity.

Kangana Ranaut's latest release is the horror comedy Chandramukhi 2, which has oiginally been made in Tamil and dubbed in Telugu and Hindi languages. The film was released in the theatres on September 28 and took a low opening of Rs 8.25 crore at the India net box office. The film earned Rs 4.35 crore on its second day and Rs 5 crore (estimated), as per the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk.com.

When the actress was taunted about her film not receiving the grand welcome in the South after she has herself targeted Bollywood on several occasions, Kangana penned a lengthy note on her Twitter account on how success has different meanings for an individual and art is subjective is nature.

The multiple National Award-winning actress wrote, "Success has many meanings, and art is not only to entertain it's also to engage and inspire above all its there for an individual to extend, reach out and convey and one must have the freedom to be true to oneself while doing that. Thats the fundamental birth right of an artist, you can't shame or blame them for being themselves."

"There are many levels of success. Film is made well it's one level of success but doesn't find acceptable on another level it’s a failure similarly a film made badly finds success it is also a failure on some level  But what is good or bad in art is subjective. What works for me as a film or painting or music or drama could be uninteresting for my friend or my mother or hosue staff and what works for others could be atrocious for me, every one's expectations and needs from art are different", she further added.

Talkin about the film, Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel to the 2005 blockbuster Tamil psychological horror-comedy Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles. Apart from Kangana, the sequel also stars Raghava Lawrence, Lakshmi Menon, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Mahima Nambiar, and Vadivelu in the leading roles.
