Kangana Ranaut reacts to back-to-back success of Hindi films; says 'Sunny ji jaise actors were not in race...'

Kangana Ranaut shared her views on the back-to-back successful Hindi films and asserted that Bollywood is being reinvented for good.

Bollywood is in its best phase after the pandemic, and Kangana Ranaut has reacted to the recent success. From July to September, Hindi films such as Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Gadar 2, OMG 2, Dream Girl 2, and Jawan restored and maintained the momentum of movie businesses. 

In a recent interview, with Times Now, Kangana Ranaut shared her thoughts about the revival of Bollywood, and how the debate of South vs North has been put to rest with the recent success. "Hum log as an industry (we as an industry), have come together. In fact, the divide between North and South is getting blurred. So, definitely, humne bahut saari cheezein re-think ki hai (we have re-thinked a lot)." 

Kangana went on to say that Sunny Deol was not in the box office race, but he bounced back with Gadar 2. "Abhi Sunny (Deol) ji jaise actors (stars like Sunny Deol), they were not there in the (box office) race for so long. Toh we need them. So the industry is moving forward as it has been re-invented, re-calibrated, and re-strategised." 

On the work front, Kangana will soon be seen in horror-comedy Chandramukhi 2. The much-awaited film is the direct sequel to the 2005 blockbuster, and Kangana has replaced Jyotika in the titular role. The movie also Raghava Lawrence, and has replaced Rajinikanth from the prequel. Chandramukhi 2 will be released in cinemas on September 28. 

Other movies Kangana lined up for release include her directorial Emergency, which also stars an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, the late Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhary. Emergency is scheduled for November 24 release. After Chandramukhi 2 and Emergency, Kangana will be seen in ariel actioner Tejas.
