The duo did nearly a dozen movies together including Hero No.1, Coolie No.1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Haseena Maan Jayegi and Shikaari to name a few.

Karisma Kapoor, who took over from Kareena Kapoor Khan as judge for two episodes of Dance India Dance, revealed that she is a huge fan of Govinda.

“I remember when I was 12 or 13 years old, he was doing a show at the Shanmukhananda Hall where he was to perform along with Neelam and I forced my parents to take me for it. They performed to I Am A Street Dancer (Ilzaam, 1986) and I was so thrilled that I kept clapping throughout! We have grown up watching and learning from these iconic actors and dancers. I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to work in so many films and dance with Govinda. He taught me how to dance with ‘feel’. While practising, we would learn the steps and all the technical aspects of the move but when it came to the final take, he would tell me to dance with ‘feel’. It was this ‘feel’ that made our chemistry work on screen and off as well.”
