Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath has managed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. The movie which is set against the backdrop of the devastating Uttarakhand flash floods is a romantic tragedy, directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The film, which released on December 7 has managed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office by the second weekend.
Kedarnath collected Rs 5.33 crore on Sunday, thereby taking the total box office collections to Rs 54.21 crore. The movie is facing tough competition from Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 as well as the Hollywood release Aquaman, but still it has managed to retain its hold, despite the reduced number of screens.
The movie, which marked the Bollywood debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan opened to mixed reviews but has been riding on a positive word of mouth. The tragic love story has struck an emotional chord with the viewers.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the box office figures of the film. He wrote, "#Kedarnath crosses ₹ 50 cr... Maintains a strong grip in Weekend 2, despite reduction in screens/shows + Hollywood biggie #Aquaman... Should comfortably sail past ₹ 60 cr on weekdays... [Week 2] Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 3.93 cr, Sun 5.33 cr. Total: ₹ 54.21 cr. India biz."
Kedarnath still has this week to go, before Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer Zero hits the theatres on December 21. Post that, Sara will be seen once again on the silver screens in Rohit Shetty's Simmba, opposite Ranveer Singh.
