Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer 'Khaali Peeli's teaser has been unveiled and they play two characters who are on the run after 'half-murder'

Ishaan Khatter is back after two years, this time with Ananya Panday in 'Khaali Peeli'. The teaser of the Ali Abbas Zafar film has been unveiled and to say the least, Ishaan has got a grasp on the tapori language used in Mumbai.

'Abhi abhi idhar se ek ladka aur ladki bhaage hai', can be heard at the beginning of the teaser, hinting that Ishaan and Ananya are involved in some crime. 'Yeh jo walkie-talkie pe jiske baare mein baat kar rahe hai na... woh ladka main hoon,' is how Ishaan is introduced in the teaser. To be honest, his character's entry is just like Shahid Kapoor's entry in 'Kabir Singh' teaser.

He introduces Ananya Panday as his 'item', which could be called derogatory at the very least, but it soon makes up with the dialogue, 'Yeh apun ki Kaali Peeli'. He also goes on to say, 'Aur lafda bole toh alag level ka hoyela hai,' before being surprised by Ananya and using the abusive language, 'Iski maa ka.'

Ishaan also goes on to ask Ananya, 'Tera upar ka maala khaali hai kya?,' which is sure to make many laugh. That is exactly when Ananya reveals the 'alag level lafda' is 'half-murder'. Soon after, there is a face-off between the two. The rest of the teaser goes on to pay a tribute to cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.

Directed by Maqbool Khan, 'Khaali Peeli' is produced by Ali Abbas Zafar. The shooting of the film had come to a halt due to the lockdown. Ananya had gone on to reveal that it happened when just a day of their shooting was left.

It is not yet confirmed whether 'Khaali Peeli' will release in theatres or on one of the OTT platforms like most other films. The makers did not even reveal the release date in the teaser and simply wrote, 'Coming soon' on it.
