Prabhas-starrer Adipurush was one of the major flops of 2023, and the lead actress, Kriti Sanon, reacted to the disastrous performance of the film. Om Raut's directorial is the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, and it was one of the highly-anticipated releases of 2023. However, when the movie was released on June 16, it opened with negative reviews, and tanked at the box office, despite grossing Rs 393 crores worldwide.
Recently, in an interview, Kriti Sanon discussed the failure of the film and revealed that she felt a “deep sadness” after Adipurush flopped. As the Indian Express reported, Kriti said, "You feel a deep sadness and might even find yourself in tears, wondering what went wrong." Adipurush was slammed for hurting religious sentiments. The Crew actor said that it was never their intention to do so, "The goal is never to hurt anyone’s feelings; the intention behind every project is always positive. However, we must face the reality that sometimes things just don’t click, and it’s crucial to learn from these experiences."
Kriti further added that there are many variables beyond her control, "As an actor, the best approach is to stay focused, put in the effort, and concentrate on the next project. There are many variables beyond my control, but I strive to ensure that I fulfil my role to the best of my ability.”
Kriti said that she receives honest feedback from family, but doesn't take trolls seriously. "At home, after watching my films together, we have a chai session the next morning where my family gives me honest feedback on what they liked and didn’t like. I believe constructive criticism is beneficial. But it’s important not to let all types of criticism get to you too deeply," the actress said. On the work front, Kriti was seen in Crew and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. She will next be seen in her co-production Do Patti with Kajol.
